Equipment

You're going need a few things to practice the exercises. You probably have most things on hand, but there are a couple of items you may need to visit a hardware store for.

Lesson 1  Yummy treats and any training tools you normally use, e.g., clicker

Lesson 2 We’ll be making the balance beam.
For small dogs, yoga blocks and a 2”x8” will do.
For larger dogs, you’ll want two cinder blocks and a larger, 2”x10” or 2”x12” board. Get an 8’ or 10’ board, regardless of your dog's size.

Lesson 3 If you don't have Cavaletti Jacks, you will need some form of Cavaletti Poles. This could be 6-12 pieces of PVC piping, each about about 3 feet long, and a way to keep them at the right height for your dog. Don't worry we will teach you how to figure out the right height. Another option would be 6-12 boards in a size appropriate for your dog (2"x2", 2"x4", 2"x6"). The boards also need to be about 3 feet in length. You will also need a measuring tape.

Lesson 4 A variety of unstable surfaces, such as cushions, pillows, bean bag chair, peanut ball, or Bosu ball.

Lesson 5 A rocker board large enough for your dog to stand on with all four limbs and an incline board. The incline surface can be as simple as a hill, a wedge, or an A-frame.

 Lesson 6 Wobble Board
